Jupiter
A passing comet abruptly tears 14-year-old Lea out of the life she knows. Her parents take her and her brother to a remote mountain camp, where the family becomes part of a community that believes humanity originated on Jupiter – a belief that offers Lea’s parents an explanation for their son’s severe disability. Within this new group, they find stability, purpose and hope. But the initial sense of security begins to fracture as Lea realises the community pursues a „higher existence“ through radical means.
Benjamin Pfohl’s film offers a compelling portrait of a family whose desperate search for meaning draws them ever deeper into an alternative reality – risking everything in the process.
